Here's How I Like To Write COPY.

READ THIS then let me know what you think. I'm always interested in what people think about how I write.

The Most Incredible Offer Ever Made For Making Money!!!

Dear Friend,

Let me be up front. My intention is to sell you something. Normally, it’s not wise to come out and say that. However, I can do so because I have such an incredible deal for you that you’d be crazy to pass on it.

I mean, why should you be worried about investing a tiny sum of $197 when you can get entire package of my marketing materials that you can use… in as little as a few days.

Here’s what it’s all about.

My name is Doc Carney.

A while ago I found myself in the same place you currently are. I was desperate to find relief from bills, credit cards, debt collectors, vendors, etc. That led me to discover how any business, no matter if you’re in a big city or small city, east coast, west coast or on the border could make this work.

And now I’m going to give my solution to you!

The “Irresistible” Offer

I have made it my goal to get this incredible solution for anyone that wants to make money in their business and get their services or products in as many hands as possible, so people can change their life just like I did. I talked to a friend of mine who is really good at marketing and he told me: “Use a Godfather close!”.

I asked him what that meant?

He said “Make an offer too good to refuse… no one will say NO!”

So I wracked my brain to come up with such an offer.

Here’s what I did.

First I compiled all my methods for getting you out of debt and into a learning how to make more money through these videos and reports. In them, I go over..

* How to market yourself
* How to make money while you sleep
* What your customers really WANT
* How you can make more money in a recession than you did in the good times
* How to influence anyone to buy your stuff
* The secret to getting people to call you

But that’s not all.

I also created some special reports, emails, and series of videos that are going over everything you ever wanted to know about marketing and what it takes to get people to call you and make an appointment or stop by your store or whatever it is you want them to do. In those I cover…

* The secrets to a unique logo
* How to make the best and most memorable business card
* How to construct a real website in one afternoon or have my brother do it for
pennies on the dollar.
* How to create a blog that makes you money
* How to do social networking with cards and the Internet
* How to write emails that get your phone ringing off the wall.
* How to do follow up emails that get responses that day.
* How to create a killer brochure
* How to personalize your newsletters so everyone wants to read them.
* How to use my personalized postcards to shoot your profits through the roof.
* How to construct a killer ad that gets a huge response every time.

And finally, to make this choke-full of value I also secured the rights to, and created some behind the scenes videos that will make you money almost instantly so you can get instant relief from…

* your current debt and loss of business.

And Here’s Why I’m Offering This For Next to Nothing!

Look, I’m not some fancy marketing person. I’m just a normal guy who has an interesting method for discovering the solution to making money and getting new customers. And really, I’m just trying to get it out there to as many people as possible. So in addition to trying to give you all this valuable stuff, I’m going to only ask you to ante up a tiny amount to get it.

I asked several people who had a chance to review my package, and they all said I should ask for ten times as much. And who knows? In the next month or so, I will. But for now, you can get it at the lowest it will ever be offered at, which is $197
per month. Oh, And You Risk Absolutely Nothing!

Since this package is so truly effective and amazing, I figured I should offer an equally amazing guarantee. I want you to try it out for the next 30 days. And if during that time you don’t experience an increase in your marketing knowledge and how to get customers and patients in the front door, or are unsatisfied for any reason, then please contact me and I will quickly and quietly return every penny you paid.

So What Will It Be?

Doc Carney, D.C., F.I.A.C.A.

P.S. Remember, this is an introductory offer, so the price is likely to increase at any time. So don’t delay, act now to get your hands on “The Hidden Secrets To A Successful Business!”

Remember, there is a 30 day money back guarantee. Can you afford to pass up on these secrets and be kicking yourself later for not taking action? Get the results you want now!

I must be crazy!!!!

I don't know about you, but there are a lot of things that go through my head, each and every day. Sometimes I'm thinking about patients, sometimes I'm thinking about making money, other times I'm just thinking about life.

I was doing some surfing like I said in another post and I ran across this dry cleaner. He apparently had just purchased a business from another marketer, but it didn't matter.

His stuff was good. I was totally impressed. But here's the reason I'm posting this entry. He taught me something I never thought about. How about giving my patients and friends, daily quotes. I don't know if I can just give them a quote, but I'm going to do it today and find out what happens.

Here's the quotes for week.

QUOTES for Your WEEK

Don't let obstacles stand in your way; learn to view failures as an opportunity to find out what works and what doesn't work; develop the inner attitude of patience, persistence, and perseverance; and, defeat your own procrastination through action not dreaming.

Persistence prevails when all else fails.

Success never resides in the world of weak wishes, but in the palace of purposeful plans and prayerful persistence.
William Arthur Ward

Whoever said anybody has a right to give up?
Marian Wright Edelman

Ask yourself if you have been defeated by your own lack of persistence without realizing it. Step back and take a hard look at how persistent you have really been.
Catherine Pulsifer

No great achievement is possible without persistent work
.
Bertrand Russell

There you have it. That didn't take long on my part and it could actually help someone who reads this blog.

I find it kind of interesting. Blogging is like being on Facebook to me, except in a much better way. I think Facebook is okay, and people love to connect in a strange way there, but I'm more into writing about what's going on internally with me and my thoughts, so people that read this blog will find out more about me and how I function in this world on a daily basis.

I used to not write much. One of the reasons was simple. I wasn't being prompted by anyone, and with my background, I needed to be told what to do, as I would forget. But now I'm finding it easier and easier to blog because I am starting to remember my password, and it's now becoming a FUN activity in my life.

I consider it more of a diary or a journal entry. It's there for all to see, but yet, it's coded with little things that mean a lot to me and about me.

I think it's a great way to share yourself with the world and if someone actually reads this, they're going to know alot about the person doing the blogging.

THANKS for reading this.

Your friend,

Dr. Carney

Do You Need What You Get?

Do You Really Get What you Need?

From time to time, all of us get discouraged. We face difficult situations that make us want to give up and not try any longer! However, that is no real solution because even if we give up, we will then have a whole new set of challenges to face. I've done it, you've done and I hate to say this, but that's life.

No longer will we be living a proactive life, but rather a reactive one. It really is not a good idea to quit; it is much better to keep going. Sometimes though, we need something to give us a jolt and get us going.

Sometimes we just need a good kick in the pants to get us going in the right direction!

Have you ever heard someone say that an engine needs a "kick start"? You might not have, but that's the expression that some of us older, more experienced people use. That is an old expression that simply means the engine needs an additional spark to get it going. That is what I am talking about today and it's early in the morning. I couldn't sleep, or should I say the dogs wouldn't let me sleep, so I was up at 5:30 AM.

Here's
something I just found out. It is my understanding that only one creature in the animal kingdom gives birth while standing - and that is the giraffe. When a cow or a horse, for example, gets ready to give birth, it will lie down to deliver its offspring.

Surprisingly, the giraffe chooses to remain standing while birthing its young. I say surprising because from the birth canal to the ground is a drop of approximately eight or nine feet! What an abrupt way to enter the world! Wham! I don't know about you but I don't know if I would have really enjoyed that drop from my mother. I sincerely doubt it and I would bet, you feel the same.

To make matters worse, a few minutes after giving birth, the mother giraffe will turn and begin to nudge the baby to get up.

Because it has such long, wobbly legs, it is very difficult for the little baby giraffe to get up quickly.

The mother will continue to nudge the baby, while she licks and cleans it, until it breathes its first breath of life and is standing to its feet.

If the baby does not respond and get up quickly enough, the mother giraffe goes into action. Rather than nudging and licking the baby any longer, she kicks the baby as hard as she can! I can imagine that it is wondering, "What in the world is going on?! My mother just dropped me on my head and now she's kicking me!"

If
the young animal still does not get up quickly, Mother Giraffe will kick it
again and she will continue to do so until it finally gets up and begins to
walk. You see, Mother Giraffe is very smart. She knows that the smell of blood
is in the air and that if the newborn does not get up and begin to walk soon,
it may end up being dinner for some hungry lion or other wild beast.

Isn't that an incredible story? The first time I heard that, I couldn't help but think that nature truly is awe inspiring.

How does the giraffe know to do
that? I certainly believe it was part of the Creator's plan to teach all of the
animals how they are supposed to take care of their young. The giraffe is the
one that I think amazes me most.

Now, if you and I were watching this process, we would probably believe that the mother was being mean or unkind. Yet, because of the nature and design of the giraffe, she knows what she has to do in order to make her baby walk as quickly as possible.

There is no meanness or unkindness in her actions. It is what she instinctively knows she must do to preserve that offspring's life. This is innate. This is the same thing most people call nature.

She is not afraid of being politically incorrect. She does not care what any other animal thinks of her. Her only desire is that her baby is safe and able to lead a healthy, productive life. This is how a lot of patients are about their care. They don't care that most people think chiropractic is strange and out of the ordinary, but they know it' the best thing to do for them and their family.

The more I think about this, the more I realize that this is how life works for all of us.

Life can be a very difficult teacher! If we don't learn the lessons it has for us, it will likely give us a hard kick. Sometimes it will be a gentle nudge in the seat of the pants, but other times it is a harsh kick right in the teeth! If we don't pay attention or respond as we should, we get kicked many times in order to wake us up.

Now, I am not suggesting that we should physically beat up our children, family members or co-workers in order to make them do the right thing. I never said that. I certainly think we should operate out of compassion rather than meanness and with a little smart thinking to go along with it. But, I think the giraffe demonstrates how important it is to be motivated to get going in life and head in the right direction.

I don't know about you, but I can honestly say that I welcome a good kick in the seat of the pants if that is what I need. I want to be alert to the lessons that life has to offer me and not miss even one of them. I find these lessons everywhere and try to share them with you. I know you may not consider this a marketing lesson, but it's a marketing lesson in life. In a word, I want my life to have meaning and purpose and I love sharing my thoughts with you!

The next time you go to the zoo, spend a little extra time observing the giraffe.

It is an amazing creature that GOD created and it teaches us one of the greatest lessons that life has to offer. I, for one, am grateful for the difficult kicks I have had in my life because they have done more to help me grow than I would have done otherwise. I didn't like what happened to me a lot of times, but there was always a good outcome from it. The old saying really is true, "What doesn't kill you makes you better." Maybe that originated with the giraffe!

I wish you all the best on this beautiful Monday.

If you missed this, here it is again.

Hello.

It's Sunday evening and it's 8 PM in California. I was surfing as usual and I ran across a dry cleaner that gives you a quote a day. On his blog he had the story of Johnny the Bagger.

I've put this on my blog before, but there are always new people that hit my site and I'm going to post it again.

Here it is.

I love this and I think it's a gentle reminder of what you need to do. Don't miss any of these blogs, as they're all different and I appreciate you reading what I have to say.

Hopefully you learn something or you do something in your life that is just a little bit different or better than you did the day before.

I wish you the best.

Does My Marketing Work In Any Business?

The Magic Numbers are 3/45

January 30, 2011

3/45 Marketing

I usually talk about how you can market yourself, but this is to a friend of mine that has reminded me numerous times about writing my blog, and so I want to dedicate this to her.

If you’ve got a storefront, it’s easy to get a first time customer, but how easy to have that same customer coming back 3 times in the next 45 days?

It’s not that easy! Have you figured out what percentage of your new customers return a second and third time? Having this basic information can help you get them as a permanent customer.

So 3/45 is getting them back into your store 3X in the first 45 days.

How do you do that? Here is what some of the most successful business people I know do to and insure that over 92% return to their stores. It’s easy, but most won’t do it. It takes some work to get the system set up, but once it’s on autopilot, it works like a charm. Here are the 7-steps:

Step 1: Snail mail a welcome letter – Explain how your delivery service works or the hours of your store or anything else they may not know about your store. Include some personal information about you, the owner. Include your picture, prices and the guarantees you have, if any.

Step 2: Email the same thing – This means that you get their email address just like you get other info. Ask confidently and you’ll get it.

Step 3: Snail mail a short hand-written thank you note - for coming into your store. One business owner has his counter person send out hand-written thank you notes every day. EVERYDAY!! His new customer rate went from 48% to 76% when he did this. If you're smart, you can do it and see a huge change in your business.

Step 4: Video or phone call – I use my iPhone to create a short customer video and I email it to them. You can also call or have one of your people call and thank them for trying you out. Most of the time you’ll get the voicemail. Prepare a simple script that you or your person can use, but make it personal.

Step 5: Send out a welcome kit – After a week or so, you can mail out a micro-fiber cloth and explain how to use it. Include one of your best newsletters and another letter explaining your services.

Step 6: Send out a newsletter every month – You can attach to all your outgoing orders and or send it out in the mail.

Step 7: Email them at least once a week – Tell them about your deal of the month, referral program and give them some tips they can use.

You can do all these things. Once you get this set up, it’s automatic and happens without your input.

Dr. Carney

You do all these steps and you’ll keep most of the people trying you out for the first time.

I love being different. Do You?

I'm not sure about you, but some things just make a difference. I have watched this video hundreds of times, and each and every time I do, I am still moved. If you haven't watched this video, by all means, DO IT. If you have, then by all means WATCH it again. It's a life changer and if you really want to help change the world, make sure you're not like everyone else.

I'm just trying some new things out and I hope you don't mind me trying them out on you. Just kidding.

All the best,

Dr. Carney

I posted this before, but it's worth the second post.

I know that you've probably seen this, but I will tell you this. You can't see it enough in my opinion.

I love the concept, and the strategy is over the top.

This is what I'm all about.

I hope you know that.

This is what this blog is all about.

Thanks for being a friend and watching this.

Dr. Carney

You Won't Believe This!

"There is more to life than increasing its speed." - Gandhi

I went to a seminar last night and it was, of course, all
about marketing. I loved it and I learned somethings.

Here's something for you to think about today.

Do you sometimes feel like your life is too rushed or too
complicated?

Do you find yourself WANTING a simpler time?

The Internet's Wikipedia says, "Simplicity is the property,
condition or quality of being simple or un-combined.

It often denotes beauty, purity or clarity.

Simple things are usually easier to explain and understand
than complicated ones.

Simplicity can mean freedom from hardship, effort or confusion.

It can also mean adopting a simpler lifestyle."

There is a plethora of information being thrown at us everyday,
options galore and pressure to buy more stuff and do more things.

I know. I'm a buyer. I love the information and that's what and
why I have this blog. I want to share things with you so if you're
smart, you're reading this at least once a week because in 2011,
I'm posting three times minimum a week.

As you can tell, we are overloaded with decisions that have to
be made.

Even if you're an info junkie like me or someone who thrives on
options, there is benefit in slowing down and simplifying your
life, even if only occasionally.

Simplifying your life - internally and externally - can free up
space and time for you and can lead to more joy and more When I
help doctors, as a marketing consultant, I slow things down for
them because they don't have to think through a lot of marketing.

ALL they have to do is send me a rough draft, and I'll create a
marketing piece that works. It's all about the - Flow.

I'll be working ON your stuff while you're working IN the office.

There are many other ways to simplify your life.

Here are just a few:

-Limit stuff to what you need and cherish. Any more than that is
rubbish

-Spend time in nature instead of at the mall. If you want to
enjoy life, enjoy nature because it is awesome.

-Clear out clutter (internally and externally). You should do this
at least four times a year.

-Be willing to say "no". I know it's hard sometimes, but you have to.

-Eat simply and healthy. This is a no brainer. Eat stuff that is simple
and easy to fix. That saves more time.

-Release complicated, unhealthy relationships. If you're in a bad
relationship, dump it. It may hurt for awhile, but when all the dust clears
you're going to feel GOOD!

-Let go of worrying about the future and "be here now". You can't change
the PAST, and the future is the future. Do what you can about what you're
doing today and then let life happen. It will anyway, so enjoy it.

Q. What could you change/release in your life to create more
simplicity?

After reading this you should have a new awareness, a lesson or a
manifestation that you are making progress - IF YOU LOOK FOR IT!

No matter how large or small, please record it in your Journal.

It will only take a few moments and will AUTOMATICALLY put you
in the Flow.

P.S. Here's a good one for you. Q. Have you written your goals
down in long hand yet? Are you writing at least 10 or your 2011
goals everyday? I mean handwriting them? I'll bet you're not.

That just tells me you're not serious about achieving them, that's
all. If you can write your goals down everyday, you're going to
actually meet them. Woohoo. Wow! Go for it.

Dr. Carney

Just A Simple Blog Post

Hey

I was reading some of Brian Tracy's stuff and here's what I learned. 95% of EVERYTHING you accomplish, or FAIL to accomplish, will be DETERMINED by your habits, either good or BAD.

Successful people have good habits that guide and direct them to ever greater SUCCESS.

Unsuccessful people have BAD habits that trip them up throughout their lives.

There are FIVE things that you can do immediately to begin developing the kind of habits that lead onward and upward to a wonderful life and practice.

FIRST: imagine that you have a magic wand.

You can wave this magic wand and create your future anyway you like. Project forward 3-5 years and imagine that your future was perfect in every way. What would it look like?

One of the fastest easy to pull yourself out of your current situation, no matter what that situation is, is to imagine an exciting FUTURE. I know this seems simple, but it works. This visualization or picture if you will of something that you can be, do or have, will often stimulate you into NEW behaviors.

I'll tell you No. #2 next time.
Have a great day.

Oh by the way, I've found an ebook that was rather expensive, but if you want to change your life forever, give me a call and I'll print it, bind it and send it to you for $197 plus postage. It's over 100 pages, but it will change the way you think about people and it's what I call the forbidden secrets. I don't want to tell you anymore as it will blow your mind. It's intense. So intense that I only read about 20 pages a night. I'm already up to page 80, but it's going well. You can learn to persuade anyone with these secrets but hey, I just thought I'd mention it.

12 Words That Will Change Your Life!

You're in for a real treat today, because I am going to
reveal a dozen words, which could change your life and
your business.

Why?

Because Yale University researches have identified the
12 most powerful words in the human language... proven to attract
attention and stir emotion within their readers.

With that said you should be getting excited. Why? Because you're
going to know the 12 words that no one else knows, or probably
even cares about.

Here they are:

I was going to give them to you but after thinking
about it, I've changed my mind. But before you get mad,
you should read this.

So how can these proven, new words you have discovered be
used to generate results and make you more money?

It's easy.

You'll love the way you can safely integrate them
into your ads and sales letters and start to generate
new patients.

Plus, you'll save thousands of dollars from burning
a hole in your pocket from ineffective advertising
... Guaranteed.

Notice how easy that was! You now only have to take
it one step further.

Oh yeah, one more thing.

You're going to have to email me to get the words.

I know, I know you have to jump through one more hoop,
but that's the name of the game. They won't mean much
to you if you're not paying attention and if you're
reading this, you're paying attention.

Once you start implementing all of these words into your
copy, ads, inserts, flyers, etc... you may just find that
the extra money you make will help you to chill out.

Consequently, many people find their health improves
as a result of generating more money almost at will.

A word of warning: These words are a tool... but just as mild
painkillers are not a cure for cancer... the 12 words I'll
give you are not a cure for poorly thought out copy.

The words will certainly spice up your communications, however if
you want to learn how to create copy that sizzles and sells,
give me a call and I'll help you discover the proven step-by-step
process for quickly and easily creating killer copy in your ads
and flyers. I don't charge a lot, but if you're serious about
promoting your business, you'll make that call.

Dr. Carney

PS Make sure that you read the M.E.N. on Johnny Appleseed. If you do this
little promotion each and every week, you double or triple your goals.

25 ADDITIONAL ideas you can use if you're SMART

26. Improve your building signage. You have to think about this if you want an effective sign.

27. Get a booth at a trade show or expo attended by your target market.

28. Give a speech or volunteer for a career day at a high school.

29. Sponsor an Adopt-a-Highway area in your community to keep roads litter-free.

30. Donate your service to a charity event or auction.

31. Have a Yellow Pages ad listed under your main industry and in related categories. You'll want to use the internet with this as well.

32. Volunteer your time to a charity or non-profit organization. People will remember you and your name.

33. Create a loyalty program to reward existing patients. This can be huge if you do it right.

34. Create an opt-in email or print newsletter for your patients. Fill each edition with specials, tips and other timely information.

35. Send hand-written thank you notes to important patients every chance you get.
I say you do this at least daily and to at least three people a day. You can send it to patients, vendors, friends, businesses, etc. Be creative.

36. Use brightly colored envelopes and unique stationary when sending direct mail pieces, especially your thank you cards and letters.

37. Show videos on a television during business hours. I have a complete set of videos that ROCK if you want to educate your patients.

38. Book a celebrity guest for an event at your office. Use television news anchors or local authors. People will know them and want to meet them in person.

39. Create window displays in locations away from your office. Airports, hospitals, and large office buildings occasionally have display areas they rent to local businesses. Do it.

40. Team up with a non-competing business in your area to offer a package promotion.

41. Pick the slowest day of the week to hold a one-day sale. Be creative and make it turn out to be your best day.

42. Create a warm, welcoming waiting area for your patients.

43. Provide extra patient service training for your staff, if you have any. If you're it, then READ.

44. Sign up for a newsletter or join online discussion groups to learn more on how to please and help people.

45. If possible, loan your facilities to other groups for a meeting place.

46. Create a unique lapel pin to wear at meetings. People will notice it.

47. Choose a regular patient to spotlight as a Patient of the Month. Create a brief write up to submit to the local newspaper about the patient and be sure to give he or she a copy of the article as well as have one framed to hang in the office.

48. Pair up slow moving items with related products and repackage as a special buy. This can be slow moving supplements or cervical pillows, etc.

49. Start a blog like this one. Write about your office and what is happening.

50. Offer your patients discounts for each referral they provide. I have an entire bonus report on this that I'll be offering at a later date.

Marketing is most effective if done in coordination with other exposure. Enhance the above efforts with additional signage, newspaper ads, displays and radio ads. Remember to tailor each event for your target audience. If your message isn't being delivered to the right person, it may be a wasted effort. If you're message isn't being delivered correctly, to the right person, it will be a wasted effort.

I wish you all the best.

Dr. Carney

P.S. I've been prompted by a good friend of mine to write this blog three times a week, so that's what I'm doing. You can come back to this blog Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and you'll see a new post. Thanks again for sharing your time with me.

25 ideas you can use if you're SMART

Small business owners, even doctors, can easily get too involved in the day-to-day operations of their businesses to spend any time brainstorming marketing ideas or promotional events.

Some doctors worry that marketing is too expensive, others may find it too time consuming. Without announcing who you are and what you sell, (and we all SELL) how will anyone know? Here are 50 marketing ideas.

1. Create a calendar for customers/patients with your business name and address on it.

2. Print the services offered on the back of your business cards. I have the perfect business card that does more than this and it all fits.

3. Always carry business cards with you. Give them freely and ask permission to leave them in places your target market may visit. (when you use my business cards, the ones I design, they will be a part of that person's billfold or purse as they are keepers.)

4. Join a trade association or organization.

5. Have a drawing for a gift certificate. Use the entry forms to collect patient's mailing addresses.

6. Develop a brochure of services your business offers.

7. Conduct monthly workshops about a service you offer or schedule semi-annual seminars on related "how-to" information.

8. Print a tagline for your business on letterhead, fax cover sheets, e-mails and invoices.

9. Develop a website to showcase your products, services and location. Use a memorable URL and include it on all marketing materials.

10. Include customer testimonials in your printed literature.

11. Promote yourself as an expert by writing articles or tips on topics related to your office.

12. Submit to the local newspaper, trade journal or other publications.

13. Host an after-hours gathering for your friends/and their relatives. People are attracted to lights at night, lots of them and lots of cars. People want to know what's going on. They are curious.

14. Provide free t-shirts with your logo to your staff to wear or as a present for being a client, customer or patient.

15. Send newsworthy press releases as often as needed.

16. Create an annual award and publicize it.

17. Develop your own TV show and present it to your local cable station or public broadcasting station.

18. Create a press kit and keep its contents current.

19. Use an answering machine or voice mail system to catch after-hours phone calls. Include basic information in your outgoing messages such as business hours, location, website, etc. I would always have a cell phone and refer your business phone to that cell phone so ALL calls are answered LIVE.

20. Join a Chamber of Commerce where you can network with area business owners. This is a MUST. You're going to hand out the KILLER business cards.

21. Hold an open house. Invite prominent city officials and the press.

22. Get a memorable local or toll-free phone number. This takes a little time, but it works.

23. Place ads in publications your market reads. Be sure to reach the non-English speaking market as well.

24. Distribute specialty products such as pens, mouse pads, or mugs with your office logo.

25. Advertise in creative locations such as park benches, buses, and popular Web sites if you have the budget. I would write articles and submit them too. You want to be well known.

Fun is FUN and this is exactly what this blog is all about to me.

I'm always on the internet, surfing, looking for more ways to help my clients make money. I love to market and if you've ever been around me you know that marketing is a #1 passion of mine.

Well today I'm going to go over something that will change the
way you market yourself if you just read this, then do something
about it.

Let's talk about something I call STICKER SHOCK. A mentor of
mine talked about it in an email, so here's the take on that
concept.

"Sticker shock" refers to a price so high that when you reveal it
to the patient or customer, she is flabbergasted - and immediately
protests that "your price is too high" or "I could never afford this."

If your customer or patient experiences sticker shock, it means
that you have not convinced the buyer/patient that the price of
the product or service is a "drop in the bucket" compared to the
VALUE of the service or product you're offering.

Even if you've done a great job of communicating VALUE, the
prospect may experience sticker
shock
if the price is extremely high or beyond their means.

Sticker shock reduces your
chances of closing the sale or getting the patient to say YES to
care that will change their lives: if the customer or patient
gasps when she learns the price, she's probably not ready to pay it.

If as a marketer or salesperson you can head off sticker shock
before it happens, your odds of closing the deal increase
tremendously.

But how do you prevent sticker shock?

Good question and here's the answer.

One way is to show the customer or the patient products or services
in your line with higher prices before showing her the product or
services you want her to buy.

In his book "Influence," Robert Cialdini describes how this is
done in a retail setting.

Say you want to sell $100 sweaters in your store ... but are afraid
your customers will faint at the price.

You put a table in the aisle near the front door and place three
stacks of sweaters on it.

As the customer walks into the room, she sees the first stack.

All of the sweaters in this pile cost $200.

"What a rip-off!" she thinks. "No way would I pay that."

Then she examines the second pile, which contains $150 sweaters.
"Phew," she thinks. "That's a little better."

She continues to go down the table until she comes to the third
stack - your $100 sweaters.

By that time, she is so relieved that a sweater won't cost her
$200 or even $150 that the $100 you are asking seems like an
incredible bargain.

Breaking the price of your services into monthly installments
is another effective way to minimize sticker shock.

For instance, the Franklin Mint was selling a collectible chess
set.

The pieces were each hand-painted pewter miniatures of civil war
figures, sent to you one per month. You'd buy them if you were
interested in the civil war.

For these hand-painted collectible figurines, the price was only
$17.50. Remember, these are hand-painted figurines. Very desireable.

Seems like a bargain for a collectible item, right?

But if you multiply $17.50 times the number of pieces (32), the
entire chess set costs a hefty $560 (the board is yours free once
you buy all 32 pieces).

If your ad had said, "Civil War Chess Set -- $560," how many do
you think you'd have sold?

Not many, right?

When you go to buy a car, do you have money in hand to buy the
car in CASH? No you don't. Human psychology tells you that you're
going to find a car you like, then you're going to find out if you
can AFFORD the payments, monthly payments for say 72 months. If you
can AFFORD the payments, you're going to be the new payee of a new
car.

Another way to avoid sticker shock is to present the price at the
beginning - and get any price objections out of the way up front.

Most mailings for expensive products build desire and perceived
value, then reveal price once the customer is sold.

An opposite approach is to state price up front and use the
exclusivity of a big number to weed out non-prospects.

Example: "This service is for serious investors only. It costs
$2,500 a year. If that price scares you, this is not for you."

An element of exclusivity and snob appeal is at work here.

Also, the more you tell someone they do not qualify, the more
they will insist they do and want your offer.

The classic example is Hank Burnett's famous letter for the
Admiral Bird Society's expedition./ This was a classic and one I
recently saw used for an internet marketer looking for some help
in the office.

The second paragraph states: "It will cost you $10,000 and about
26 days of your time. Frankly, you will endure some discomfort,
and may even face some danger."

Once the reader has heard the price and decides to continue
reading, the possibility of sticker shock is eliminated ... because he already knows what the product
costs.

Surprise is eliminated ... and sticker shock is all about surprise.

If you want to close more deals, you need to master this POST.

Thanks for reading.

What is Life Anyway?

I've sent these special things from time to time and I post videos to give you a better idea of what I'm all about and how I think. So many times people love each other, even marry each other but they never really get to know the other person. This may help you understand me.

Any day, YOU can change it all... YOU really can.

Any day you wish, you can discipline yourself to change it all.

Any day you wish, you can open the book that will open your mind to new knowledge.

Any day you wish, you can start a new activity. Any day you wish, you can start the process of life change. You can do it immediately, or next week, or next month, or next year.

It's on you. I say,

Just do it!

You can also do nothing.

You can pretend rather than perform. And if the idea of having to change yourself makes you uncomfortable, you can remain as you are.

You can choose rest over labor, entertainment over education, delusion over truth, and doubt over confidence.

The choices are yours to make.

But while you curse the effect, you continue to nourish the cause.

As Shakespeare uniquely observed, “The fault is not in the stars, but in ourselves.”

You created your circumstances by your past choices.

You have both the ability and the responsibility to make better choices beginning today.

Those who are in search of the good life do not need more answers or more time to think things over to reach better conclusions. They need the truth. They need the whole truth. And they need nothing but the truth.

You cannot allow your errors in judgment, repeated every day, to lead you down the wrong path.

You must keep coming back to those basics that make the biggest difference in how your life works out.

And then you must make the very choices that will bring life, happiness and joy into your daily life.

And if I may be so bold to offer my last piece of advice for someone seeking and needing to make changes in their life: If you don’t like how things are, change it!

You’re not a tree.

You have the ability to totally transform every area in your life. And it all begins with your very own power of choice.

I wish you the best. All you have to do is just do it.

Listen and learn

When you get up, what are you thinking?

What were you thinking?

I recently read this on one of my mentors blogs and I had to share it with you. I was also prodded by a friend to stay more current on my blog so here you go.

Two people walk past an abandoned car park. One looks at it and says to himself; “what an eye sore!”

The other person looks at it and says to herself; “this would be a great place to build a children’s playground!”

Confronted with the same situation, one person sees opportunity, where another sees just a mess.

Their differing attitudes determine their reality; what’s real for them.

Whether you believe it or not uur attitudes determine out altitude

When someone believes that the world is conspiring against them, they find LOTS of information to support that perspective.

Each time one of their plans fails to work out exactly how they wanted, it reinforces their belief.

Conversely, when they believe that the world will reward them, so long as they do the right things correctly, they will find LOTS of evidence to support that perspective too.

When a plan fails to work out exactly how they wanted, they look for the lesson and invest that feedback in their next plan.

This reinforces their belief that if they get it right next time, they will reap the results they want.

“We become what we think about!” Earl Nightingale: 1921 – 1989

Before we decide to blame the world we're living in, the economy or our past experiences for the current state of our business, it’s always worth checking our attitudes and the thoughts we have allowed to influence the development of our business, first.

These ALONE are what determine our actions, which in turn determine our results.

Attitude shifts create immediate change

Thankfully, we have the opportunity to improve our attitudes whenever we wish and the results begin immediately. The day Sandy decides to go to work with a smile on her face, rather than a scowl, is the day people begin smiling back at her. The day Gail decides to confront her financial problems, is the day she starts to gain control over them.

When we truly understand the progress we can make, by improving our attitudes and how we think, making the changes required becomes a great deal easier. Make sure you're reading something positive everyday and staying away from the news, etc. There is really nothing good on the news.

You Are FREE!!!!

Hi,

For 2011,
* You should focus on what’s important to you, not that bastard that upset you. Whilst you are getting angry, he’s out dancing!
* You look better when you smile. It’s the fastest and least expensive way to get a facelift.
* You are almost certainly more talented, more admired and more loved than you think you are.
* You will sell zero copies of the book you never write.
* You will be amazed how good you feel, after you tell someone how much you appreciate them. Your kind words may also be the only sunshine they get that day.
* You can either get a day older, or a day better. Each day the choice is yours.
* You are able to improve any element of your life or business, which you are unhappy with. It’s all about intelligent activity. Get the information you need, then use it!

You are also the reason I write this blog! You can write me at my email address and give me feedback there. I love feedback and of course, I love marketing.
